EduTECH 2016: University of Adelaide rolls out TOP500-ranked supercomputer in 6 weeks

The University of Adelaide’s 4300 researchers, who analyse huge datasets, have access to one of the world’s top 500 supercomputers at their fingertips, which allows them to work on pioneering projects such as the driverless car.

 

Phoenix, a high-performance computing (HPC) system underpinned by Lenovo’s x86 NeXtScale tech  powered by Intel® Xeon® processor, was completely rolled out in six weeks, with the university taking an Agile approach to implementing the HPC.
